EPS-TOPIK: 10 Frequently Asked Questions
1. How many points do I need to pass?
There is no fixed passing score. You must clear the minimum score set for your industry, and final selection is by rank within each round's quota (source: epstopik.hrdkorea.or.kr, checked 2026-08-24). Check your round's official notice.
2. How many questions, and how long?
40 questions in 50 minutes: listening 20 questions (25 minutes, 50 points) and reading 20 questions (25 minutes, 50 points), all 4-choice multiple choice (checked 2026-08-24).
3. How often is the test held?
It differs by country. HRD Korea announces rounds per country through the year — check the official schedule page and your sending agency's site (checked 2026-08-24).
4. What is the age limit?
18 to 39 at application, per the official eligibility conditions (checked 2026-08-24).
5. Do I need a diploma or degree?
Korea's EPS-TOPIK eligibility does not list an education requirement, but some sending countries add one — for example Indonesia's 2026 notice requires at least junior high school (SMP) (checked 2026-08-24). Follow your country's notice.
6. How long is my result valid?
2 years from the announcement of results (checked 2026-08-24). If you are not selected by an employer within the roster period, you may need to retake the test.
7. Does passing guarantee a job in Korea?
No. Passing only qualifies you for the roster of jobseekers. Korean employers select workers through the EPS system, and official notices state clearly that passing does not ensure employment (checked 2026-08-24).
8. Can I take the test again if I fail?
Yes, in a later round, as long as you still meet eligibility (including age). There is no published limit on attempts — but each round needs a new application and fee.
9. I worked in Korea before. Can I apply?
Yes, if your total previous stay on E-9/E-10 visas is under 5 years, you were not deported, and you meet the other conditions (checked 2026-08-24). Returnees may also be eligible for Special EPS-TOPIK rounds — see the official site.
10. Where do I check results, and how do I avoid scams?
Only on epstopik.hrdkorea.or.kr and your sending agency's official site (Nepal: eoers.epsnepal.gov.np; Indonesia: kp2mi.go.id / siskop2mi.bp2mi.go.id; Sri Lanka: slbfe.lk — all checked 2026-08-24). No one can sell you a pass, a higher rank, or an employer. If any information here conflicts with an official announcement, trust the official announcement.
